In 1945, John P. Van Denburgh Sr. received from President Harry S. Truman, in Washington D.C. a commemorative medal for his service on the Arizona draft board. On his return trip, via New Orleans, he visited his brother Archer Graham Van Denburgh, who just bought a fence company and needed a manager. J.P. Van Denburgh Jr., who had just returned home from service in World War II, was offered the position.

After managing J.R. Quaid Inc. for three years he returned to Arizona in 1948 to start the American Fence Company at 400 E. Roosevelt, Phoenix, Arizona.

Check out the custom ornamental iron railing American Fence installed at an airport to control pedestrian movement to designated crosswalks. This project had to be installed during night hours to minimize interruption of airport activities.

This project involved grade to eaves which were as high as 55′ at the peak. The mesh was embedded in an asphalt ribbon on the bottom so we had to be tight with our measurements. Due to the grade changes and large beam footings, it was challenging. The project required a 1″ tolerance, 1″ maximum space which we achieved. This tolerance included the gates. The customer was very happy with the work and had high praises for the crew. Here are a few pictures of this project..

Our standard 6′ or 8′ x 14′ fence panel is constructed out of 1 3/8″ galvanized tubing with a 1 3/8″ center upright for increased stability. Our unique interlocking ring system makes installation a breeze. No clamps or ties are needed, just line up the rings and drop the post through.

We offer both pounded posts and t-stands for our panels. Pounded posts are always recommended for any panels as the most stable installation. We have the ability to core drill through either concrete or asphalt. We also have sand bags for your t-stand applications for added stability. Privacy shade can be installed on pounded post applications for added privacy.

Shade cloth is available in a variety of colors and heights, depending on our customers needs and can even be custom ordered. You can purchase it from us and install it yourself or have our professional installation crews take care of the labor for you.

Panels without shade cloth can be either pounded or stood on t-stands that will give the contractor increased mobility, in the event panels need to be moved quickly.

Gates are available as single or double swing gates and also as single or double slide gates.

Here’s something that separates American Fence & Security from the competition on temporary fence jobs. Did you know that we encourage our customers to inspect our fence after installation and give you 24 hours to contact us with any concerns? We are trying to make your fence rental as easy as possible. The best way to do this is to walk the site with your installer and if there are any concerns, we can correct them at that time. If that’s not feasible, just walk the job in the 24 hour period following installation and contact your local branch manager or lease agent. We’ll have one of them meet you on site to work through your concerns.

At American Rent-a-Fence, you’ll notice we only offer temporary fence “panels” for rental. There’s a reason we only offer temporary fence panels as opposed to other types of temporary fence, stability and mobility. You can have both in your temporary fence. We can pound all or any number of posts on your temp fence job to give you the maximum stability for a long term rental. Along with this stability, you can obtain shade screen for blocking out unsightly views with confidence that you have the strongest temp fencing available. There are no guarantees that your fence with privacy shade screen can withstand heavy winds but you need to give yourself the strongest fence possible just in case. Pounded posts are the best way to do that.

If mobility is your main concern, we can offer temporary fence panels on t-stands. This offers you, the contractor, the greatest ability to move your panels as needed on your jobsite. (Note: If using shade cloth, however, it’s not recommended with rent a fence installed on stands.) Safety is always a priority with American Fence and Security. We can offer a mix of both pounded posts and t-stands in this case to attempt to provide the strength you need along with the mobility you desire. Of course with temporary fencing panels, gates can be located anywhere on the site.
